For reference:

It should be noted that the Sumy region is under constant attack from the enemy, with shelling occurring daily since the start of large-scale military aggression by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

The border regions of the region suffer the most from attacks. Still, the city of Sumy is also subject to attacks, in particular with the use of drones, missiles, and enemy aircraft.

For example, on August 22, the Russian army dropped two guided aerial bombs on civilian infrastructure in the Sumy region. Two men died, and one woman was injured.

Furthermore, on August 25, the Sumy region was once again bombarded by Russian aggressors; as a result of their attack, a tall building sustained damage. The assault by the invaders resulted in both casualties and fatalities.

At the moment, settlements 5 and 10 kilometers away from the contact line in the Sumy region are being evacuated. Additionally, limitations are being put in place for staying within the 20-kilometer zone.
