Russian air attack damages apartment building in Lutsk, leaves several fatalities in various regions
On the night of August 26, Russian forces initiated a large-scale shelling of Ukraine using missiles and Shahed-type drones. The sound of explosions reverberated in multiple cities, and the initial casualties occurred due to the attack. In Lutsk, an apartment complex sustained damage during the intense enemy shelling.

At 08:23, Polishchuk declared that the air defense was in operation and urged civilians to remain in shelters.
Later, the mayor provided an update on the damage to the apartment building.
"The information on victims is being clarified. I am currently on-site," he added.
Polishchuk announced at 08:55 AM that there was a new explosion in the city.
The mayor reported that a critical infrastructure facility had been damaged due to shelling. There is also confirmation of one fatality.
Zaporizhzhia
In the Zaporizhzhia region, a civilian was killed as a result of Russian shelling.
"The Russians killed a civilian in the Zaporizhzhia district. The enemy struck near a private house. A man died," Ivan Fedorov, the head of Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported on Telegram.
Kyiv
Thus, explosions rang out in Kyiv several times: first, as a result of a drone attack, and later, after a missile strike. The work of anti-aircraft defense was reported. As a result of the explosions, the lights went out in some areas of the city.
Poltava region
In the Poltava region, the enemy fired at an industrial facility. As a result of the enemy attack, at least five people were injured, said the head of the local regional military administration, Filip Pronin.
Dnipropetrovsk region
It has also been reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region that one person has died – a 69-year-old man.
"In the morning, the aggressor massively attacked the region. Explosions rang out in the Dnipro and Kryvyi Rih districts. Thank you for the work of the Air Defense Forces! Unfortunately, the enemy's terror did not pass without consequences. Previously, there is one deceased, a 69-year-old man," Lysak wrote.
He also informed about several incidents, including a fire in a country house.
Lviv region
Russian soldiers launched an assault on energy facilities in the Lviv region, causing power outages in both Lviv and the surrounding areas.
"The enemy launched an attack on the energy facilities in the Lviv region, resulting in partial power outages in Lviv and the surrounding area. More information will be provided later," the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytsky, reported on Telegram.
Explosions in cities
Explosions also occurred in Kryvyi Rih, Kropyvnytskyi, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Rivne, and Ternopil. Russians attack Ukraine using Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles.
New explosions were heard in the Lviv region and Ivano-Frankivsk.
