Ukraine hosts inaugural meeting of over 40 partners to discuss energy security under "Peace Formula" implementation
Ukraine hosted the first specialized working group meeting focused on implementing the "peace formula" clause for energy security. The conference followed the initial Peace Summit.
The Office of the President reported this.
Representatives of more than 40 partner countries and international organizations that joined the working group attended the online meeting. On the Ukrainian side, representatives of the President's Office and the Ministry of Energy participated.
Head of the Office Andrii Yermak noted that constant attacks on the energy system caused Ukraine to lose more than 9 GW of generation. As a result, the situation in the humanitarian sphere and the economy has significantly worsened.

"The protection of energy infrastructure facilities, their rapid restoration and development is the only way to prevent the deepening of the crisis. Ukraine needs your energy solidarity," the official said.
He also suggested that Ukraine can become a platform for introducing and testing new approaches to the "green" transition and strengthening sustainable development at the same time.
The present officials, particularly from Denmark, Norway, and Poland, said that their countries support Ukraine's efforts to rebuild the energy sector.
Therefore, Copenhagen has pledged that during its presidency of the EU Council in 2025, one of the key focuses will be maintaining the bloc's political solid focus on Ukraine's energy system. Meanwhile, Warsaw has guaranteed that during its presidency, it will strive to halt the import of Russian fuel to EU member states.
Following the conference results, the participants adopted a Joint Communiqué in which they reaffirmed their commitment to "comprehensive, just and sustainable peace in Ukraine, which includes the prevention of attacks on civilian objects and energy infrastructure."
The partners pledged to support Ukraine's efforts to rebuild its energy system based on the transition principles to "green" energy and energy independence. In general, they affirmed that they share a common vision of three aspects:
- guaranteeing the safety of civil energy infrastructure during armed conflicts;
- reconstruction of the energy system of Ukraine in the short and long term in the interests of increasing global energy security and sustainability;
- protection of energy infrastructure from attacks.
