The Russian Telegram resources SHOT, Baza, and ASTRA report about the repeated shelling.
It is noted that the UAV attack on the oil storage facility in Proletarsk took place around 05:00. There are no casualties.
The local authorities have not yet commented on this information. However, according to residents, powerful explosions were heard at night.
Russian firefighters have worked at this facility for a long time, trying to extinguish the flames. Some of them were injured during work.
Also, the other day, Russian priests led a prayer service near the oil depot.
At the same time, users of local Telegram channels note that a black cloud of smoke has been observed over the city for almost a week. The local population is urged not to open the windows.
For reference:
On the evening of August 18, an oil depot in Proletarsk, located in the Rostov region, was the target of an attack by kamikaze drones. This resulted in a fire, which is currently being managed and is believed to have been carried out by Ukrainian intelligence.
The governor of the region, Vasiliy Golubev, announced that at that time, air defense forces successfully defended the southeastern area against an anti-aircraft missile attack. Debris falling onto some industrial warehouses in Proletarsk ignited diesel fuel.
It was later revealed that the Ukrainian military had attacked the "Kavkaz" plant, located in the Rostov region of Russia. The facility stored oil and oil products, which were also being supplied for the needs of the occupying Russian army.
It was also reported that on August 19, during the fire's extinguishing, several fuel tanks were depressurized, resulting in a powerful explosion. The rescuers were injured, and some were in serious condition. In total, 41 rescuers were injured.
The day before, satellite images of the fire in Proletarsk appeared online. According to them, the smoke was approaching Rostov. By the way, the distance between these two cities is about 150 kilometers.
It was also captured in satellite images that the fire at the oil depot is still spreading.
According to OSINT analysts, the fire has already destroyed 14 fuel tanks, with 4 sustaining partial damage and 16 remaining undamaged. Meanwhile, the status of 44 other tanks is uncertain as they are obscured by thick smoke.
On August 21, it became known that another fuel tanker exploded at the facility.
