Solutions to win: Ukraine's defense ministry approves Buffalo MPV armored vehicle for delivery to armed forces
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has officially codified and approved the Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle delivery to the armed forces. This particular armored car has been recognized as one of the safest in the world.
The Ministry of Defense reported that.
What is the problem?
Since the start of this full-scale war, the provision of armored vehicles for units remains a pressing concern.
The Defense Forces' battalions and brigades involved in the hostilities require thousands of units to be procured and effectively distributed. Moreover, it is crucial for the military to have protective armored vehicles that can shield soldiers from projectiles and mines.
Thankfully, partner countries have stepped in to provide their own armored vehicles, and in Ukraine, arms companies are working on developing and improving domestic models.
What is the solution?
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has officially authorized the delivery of the Buffalo MPV armored engineering vehicle to the Ukrainian army. This specific armored car has earned acclaim for being one of the safest in the world.
Buffalo MPV is an engineering vehicle of the US Army, manufactured using MRAP technology (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected – protection against mines and ambushes). This is a class of military vehicles with increased ballistic protection. The machines have a V-shaped bottom to dissipate the energy of the explosion and special cushioning seats. Structurally, armored vehicles consist of a monolithic armored capsule and external blast-absorbing units.
The Ministry of Defense emphasizes that the Buffalo MPV is a highly upgraded version of the renowned СASSPIR armored car. This vehicle was previously utilized in military missions in South Africa during the 1980s and in Iraq and Afghanistan. Currently, СASSPIR is being used by the armies and government organizations of over ten countries. It is noteworthy that during combat situations, there have been no casualties among personnel riding in this model of armored vehicle despite being exposed to explosions and gunfire.
It is worth noting that currently, the armored vehicles of this model are in service with the armies of Canada, France, Italy, Pakistan, and Great Britain. The Buffalo MPV belongs to vehicles of the III protection category according to the STANAG 4569 standard and can withstand a mine explosion with an explosion force equivalent to 20 kg of TNT. The windows are protected by 15-centimeter bulletproof glass, and the armored capsule is made of composite armor, additionally protected by cumulative gratings. The machine is equipped with a 9-meter manipulator with a built-in camera and sensors for the disposal of explosives.
