The Ukrainian Naval Forces, in cooperation with the Main Directorate of Intelligence, conducted a successful operation to destroy a platform in the Black Sea, which Russian troops captured to pose a threat to civilian shipping.

Rubryka writes about this, referring to the Telegram of Dmytro Pletenchuk, the spokesman of the Ukrainian Navy Forces.

As the officer reported, Russians used one of the platforms for GPS spoofing, a technology that allows you to deceive navigation systems by creating false signals about your location.

This was intended to make civilian shipping unsafe and threaten commercial and passenger vessels in the region. The Ukrainian military could not allow such a development of events, so a decision was made to destroy this object.

According to information received by intelligence, half a day before the attack, the enemy threw equipment and military personnel onto the platform. It is important to note that no civilians were at this location, and the platform was no longer performing its normal functionality. The strike was carried out with maximum accuracy, which made it possible to avoid casualties among the civilian population.

Volunteer and activist Serhii Sternenko also reported on the military operation on his social network X (Twitter).

Sternenko added that the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has twin Sea Baby drones with a range of up to 1,000 km and a warhead of about 900 kg, so the Russians will have fewer and fewer chances to survive in the Black Sea.

The operation was another proof of the professionalism of the coastal missile and artillery forces of the Ukrainian navy, which have quickly and effectively responded to threats, protecting the civilian population and ensuring safety at sea.

This is a reminder to the enemy that any attempt to create a threat to Ukraine will be met with a decisive and irreversible response.

"The Coastal Missile and Artillery Forces of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are the most serious guys," Pletenchuk summarized.

In a comment to UP, the navy spokesman noted that this is "not the first such operation." According to him, the enemy used this platform in particular to disrupt the normal operation of the "grain corridor."

The officer added that the decision was made to ensure the safety of civil shipping.

We will remind you that in September 2023, units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense conducted a special operation, which resulted in Ukraine returning to control gas and oil platforms in the Black Sea between Crimea and Odesa. These objects are better known under the name "Boyko towers."

The situation in the Black Sea

In addition, on the night of August 9, soldiers of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense destroyed another Russian high-speed boat, "Tunets," near the Black Sea in the temporarily occupied Crimea with the help of a MAGURA V5 attack marine drone.

The British intelligence also analyzed the latest Ukrainian attack on the Russian submarine "Rostov-on-Don," which led to the sinking of the submarine.

According to British analysts, the attack took place as part of a series of drone strikes, but ATACMS missiles most likely played a key role in it. In addition, the British Ministry of Defense emphasized that this attack was the last in the history of "Rostov-on-Don" because building a new submarine would be more economically profitable than restoring and repairing a damaged submarine.

It is worth adding that the spokesman of the Navy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, captain of the third rank Dmytro Pletenchuk, said that there are no safe locations left for enemy ships in Crimea; therefore, the tactics of the command of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation is to minimize the risks of destroying their ships and boats.
