Russia under drone attack: fires erupt in Kursk, victims in Sudzha from falling debris

In Russia, during the night of Tuesday, August 6, at least 26 drones were shot down in two different regions. A fire also occurred in the Kursk region. The local authorities reported the deployment of air defense in response to the drone attack, as well as the falling debris in Sudzha.

The acting governor of the Kursk region, Aleksey Smirnov, the governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, and local Telegram channels reported that.

Kursk region

Smirnov reported that Russian air defense purportedly took down 26 drones over the region last night.

According to local Telegram channels, the night explosions were heard in the Sudzha, Korenovo, Lhovsky, Belovsky, Kurchatovsky, and Oktyabrsky districts of the Kursk region.

At the same time, the local authorities initially announced the missile threat twice.

Social media also shared videos of a fire reportedly caused by an air strike in Sudzha.

The governor reported that the shelling of Sudzha has allegedly resulted in five casualties, including three children.

Several buildings were also reportedly damaged.

It should be noted that explosions in the Kursk region have been heard almost daily since mid-July 2024.

Bryansk region

In addition, the governor of the Bryansk region, Aleksandr Bogomaz, reported on the work of the Air Defense Forces that night.

According to him, air defense destroyed two allegedly Ukrainian drones over the region.

Drones attacked the village of Yasnye Zori; several cars, a garage, and houses were damaged.

According to reports, on the night of August 3, drone attacks occurred in Morozovsk, Rostov region in Russia. It was previously reported that the drones had targeted a military airfield.
