Russian military deploys reserves to Kursk region amid Ukraine's armed forces "breakthrough" rumors
Russia decided to transfer reserves to the border area in the Kursk region after the alleged "breakthrough of the Ukrainian military" there.
The Ministry of Defense of Russia reported that on Telegram.
The aggressor country's agency reports that this morning, 300 Ukrainian defenders from the 22nd mechanized brigade of their armed forces, backed by 11 tanks and over 20 armored fighting vehicles, supposedly launched an attack on the occupiers' positions near the villages of Nikolayevo-Daryino and Oleshnia in the Kursk region.
The Russians claim that they are attacking Ukrainian defenders who are allegedly in the Kursk region, as well as those who are located in the Sumy region.
"Reserves of the Russian group of troops on the Kursk front advanced to the area of the combat clash," the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
The department also boasted about the "destroyed military equipment," including tanks and anti-aircraft guns.
For reference:
On August 6, Russian Telegram channels reported in the morning that Ukrainian soldiers had supposedly crossed the border and entered the Kursk region.
Before that, officials in the Russian region had been voicing their concerns about the intense shelling of border towns.
Ukraine has not officially commented regarding such events in the Kursk region.
