Rubryka writes about this, referring to the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
What is the problem?
Since many Ukrainian men are mobilized to the army, the Ukrainian economy has faced a labor shortage. That is why the Ministry of Economy plans to retrain women for those professions where there is a shortage of specialists.
As Yuliia Svyrydenko, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine, noted, it is now necessary to pay more attention to retraining programs for Ukrainians who remain in the rear.
"First of all, we are talking about women who are already mastering once purely 'male' professions. For example, bodyguards, drivers of trucks, buses, or even tractors — such are the realities of the labor market now," she emphasized.
What is the solution?
At the end of July, the Alef Stroy company and the Nemyshaiv Vocational College, with the assistance of the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine and the support of the USAID Competitive Economy of Ukraine program, invited Ukrainians to study at the first School of Construction Equipment Operators in Ukraine.
On August 1, this project was presented with the participation of representatives of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, USAID, and the Business Woman Club community.
"Supporting female leadership and creating and expanding women's professional opportunities have always been the focus of the work of the Kyiv Regional State Administration team. The idea of creating such a school was born at one of the Council of Women Entrepreneurs meetings under the head of the KRMA. We are always ready to support initiatives to help women who want to enter the labor market," stressed Lesya Karnaukh, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, during the opening ceremony.
How does it work?
The educational program aims to attract women to the profession of construction equipment drivers on equal terms with men. This will help Ukrainian companies to cope with the personnel crisis caused by the war.
The first training group will consist of 15 women and last nine weeks. In total, 75 people in five training groups are planned to be trained. Practical management training will take place on modern excavators and loaders.
The educational program is also designed to create more conditions for women to realize their potential in the labor market in the widest possible range of professions that may interest them.
All participants will receive free tuition, accommodation, and meals. The training will be held in Nemyshaevo, Kyiv region.
According to the results, the participants will receive a state certificate and assistance with employment.
Rubryka also reported that in Novovolynsk, Volyn region, women mastered stereotypically male professions at one of the enterprises under martial law.
We will remind you that Rubryka reported about the first courses in Ukraine for women who want to drive trucks and about the path of Ukrainian women who have already passed it and are looking for a new profession.
Rubryka also wrote about a voluntary women's formation in the Rivne region, preparing to fight fires and emergencies.
