Rebuilding Ukraine: American GEM Foundation installs 3,000 new windows in Kherson region’s damaged buildings

The Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), an American charitable foundation, installed nearly three thousand windows in the damaged buildings of five communities in the Kherson region.

Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson regional military administration, reported this on Telegram.

"I met with representatives of the Global Empowerment Mission charitable foundation. The GEM team continues to support the residents of the Kherson region. Volunteers of the American Foundation have long become friends for residents," Prokudin wrote.

He says that the fund still provides humanitarian aid even in the most dangerous settlements. The region has ongoing programs in place, such as the "Window program" and initiatives for supplying clean water and generators.

The head of the region reported that almost three thousand windows were installed in the damaged residential buildings and social institutions of the Vysokopillia, Dariivka, Kherson, Novovorontsovka and Chornobayivka communities.

Prokudin thanked the benefactors for their quick responses to requests. The region is under shelling every day, and the needs are increasing.

During the meeting, they also discussed the possibility of providing food aid to displaced persons from the Kherson region who are temporarily living in Kropyvnytskyi. Another humanitarian hub will soon be opened in this city.

The GEM Foundation has long been a reliable partner for local communities, helping people in brutal war conditions. Their support not only makes everyday life easier but also restores hope for the future for many residents of the Kherson region.

It's important to mention that there isn't a comprehensive record of broken windows in Kyiv due to Russian aggression; however, individual calculations are being conducted. The repair of windows is covered by the city budget, heavily affected institutions, charitable organizations, and the "eRecovery" program for private residences.
