Russian air defense forces allegedly shoot down four Ukrainian missiles in Kursk

Explosions rang out at night in the Russian city of Kursk. Traditionally, local authorities announced the downing of air targets.

The acting governor, Aleksey Smirnov, announced that Kursk was under attack. The news was also shared on social media.

According to Smirnov, on the night of July 30, in the sky over Kursk, Russian air defense allegedly shot down four missiles launched by Ukraine's armed forces. Residents reported the sounds of explosions.

According to locals who spoke to the Shot telegram channel, an explosion could be heard in the sky over Kursk, and a bright flash could be seen. The loud noise set off car alarms in multiple areas.

The governor cautioned residents about the risk of missiles and urged them to stay indoors and seek shelter in windowless rooms with sturdy walls.

RIA Novosti also reports that "four missiles of Ukraine's armed forces" were allegedly destroyed.

The governor of the area also mentioned that it was possible to extinguish the fire at the oil depot on the morning of July 30, following the drone attack by the Defense Forces on July 28.

Currently, the Ukrainian side has not commented on this situation.

It should be noted that on the evening of July 24, the Russians declared a large-scale drone strike on Kursk and the surrounding area on the evening of July 24. The Russian Air Defense Forces supposedly managed to take down 12 drones flying in the city's airspace.
