Russian nighttime drone strike injures 15 people, destroys dormitory in Nizhyn
Following the Russian strike drones' nighttime attack in Nizhyn, the number of casualties rose to 15. Furthermore, the impacted dormitory is now uninhabitable.
Nizhyn's mayor, Oleksandr Kodola, stated this, according to suspilne.media.
As the city head reported, all 15 people were immediately taken to the Nizhyn City Hospital. As of 9:30, four people remain in the hospital.
"Now we are dealing with the liquidation of the consequences of the attack. The house itself was severely damaged. We are dealing with the evacuation of people.
The dormitory had 24 apartments, and people of retirement age lived there. We will block the doors and windows. There is no gas, water, or electricity in it. Major repairs must be made," Kodola stated.

At midnight, Russian forces deployed additional UAVs to attack Ukraine. One group of drones headed northeast through the Sumy region towards Chernihiv, while another group flew south through Kherson towards the Mykolaiv and Odesa regions.
At 00:40, the first group of drones was recorded on the border of the Sumy and Chernihiv regions, and the second – in the Kherson region.
The Russians attacked Nizhyn in the Chernihiv region with attack drones, as a result of which there was a hit and an injured person.
Moreover, the enemy launched a massive attack on the Zhytomyr region on the night of July 25. Infrastructural facilities and houses were damaged.
In general, the Russian occupying forces attacked Ukraine on the night of July 26 with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 22 attack drones: the Air Defense Forces managed to destroy 20 enemy drones.
