Ukraine's armed forces take down another Russian Su-25 aircraft in Donetsk region
On Tuesday, July 23, the defense forces shot down a Russian Su-25 fighter jet over the Donetsk region.
The Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops reported that.
The fighter jet was shot down in the direction of Pokrovsk, where it was attempting to attack Ukrainian military positions alongside another Su-25 aircraft.
The 110th separate mechanized brigade, named after Colonel-General Marko Bezruchko, fired at the aircraft with anti-aircraft guns.
This is the second Su-25 destroyed by the brigade's fighters this month.

It should be reported that fighters of the 110th brigade shot down such an attack aircraft in the same direction at the end of last week, on July 19.
In total, since the beginning of the full-scale war, according to the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces, Russia has already lost 362 aircraft.
As Rubryka reported, as of the morning of July 19, the Ukrainian military destroyed 362 Russian aircraft, 326 helicopters, 12,511 UAVs, and 2,401 Russian cruise missiles.
The total combat losses of Russian troops in Ukraine from February 24, 2022, to July 23, 2024, amount to about 568,980 people, including 1,220 people in the past 24 hours.
Ukrainian soldiers continue to actively inflict losses in manpower and equipment on the occupying troops, exhausting the offensive potential of the enemy along the entire line of battle and in the rear.
In the past day, aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces struck:
- 14 strikes on areas of concentration of personnel and anti-aircraft defenses of the enemy,
- hit the control point,
- five artillery systems,
- radar station,
- three warehouses of ammunition.
Also, on June 11, the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft on the Pokrovsk front.
In addition, at the beginning of June, Ukraine's intelligence, referring to satellite images of the aircraft parking lot, announced the destruction of the Su-57 at the airfield in the Astrakhan region.
In total, over the past six months, the Defense Forces have destroyed more than 30 aircraft of the Russian army.
