BGV Charity Fund aids 230 farms in Kherson region
The BGV Charity Fund bought, delivered, and distributed 2,300 laying hens and 3.8 tons of grain — 30 days' worth of feed — to 230 families as part of a grant project.
The aid was received by low-income families in the village of Zelenivka in the Kherson region. These include large families, those with a disabled member, and those who suffered significant losses during the full-scale war in Ukraine. Their homes were destroyed, and Russian forces stole their livestock, so they lost income, food, and means of living.
Each family received ten hens and 60 kg of grain through the project. Overall, this initiative provided over 700 people with a potential source of income, as well as eggs and poultry meat.
We thank the donors at DanChurchAid, Norwegian Church Aid, and Southern Development Strategy for making this project possible and the NGO "What Have You Done?" for organizational support.
Southern Development Strategy is implementing the project in partnership with the joint office of DanChurchAid and Norwegian Church Aid in Ukraine, with support from the Ukraine Humanitarian Fund of OCHAUkraine.
The BGV Charity Fund's project "Restoring Farms in De-occupied Kherson Region" was selected by donors DanChurchAid, Norwegian Church Aid, and Southern Development Strategy from nearly 200 proposals! The grant budget is $10,000.
