United to win: France to provide Ukraine with new military aid, including Caesar howitzers
Ukraine will receive a new package of military aid from France, which, in particular, will include Caesar howitzers.
France Info reports this.
The French publication writes that it has read the document, according to which Ukraine will receive:
- 128 VAB transport vehicles,
- 18 Caesar artillery howitzers,
- 24 light tanks.
"Anti-tank missiles, trucks, and radars will make up another part of the additional French equipment in accordance with the plan for 2024," the message emphasized.
In addition, at the end of this year, 2,100 Ukrainian soldiers will spend two months in military camps in France to prepare for combat operations.
"The unprecedented size of the unit will remain in place for two months. The soldiers undergoing training will be stationed in France.
The report notes that these are the same centers that receive French soldiers every year before every operation in a foreign theater of war.
At the same time, they emphasize that a small part of the training will be focused on tank training.
This large-scale operation aims to prepare a brigade of Ukraine's armed forces by December 2024.
For reference:
The French Air and Space Forces have trained Ukrainian military pilots since March. In two years, they undertook to certify the training of 26 Ukrainians.
Earlier, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Ukrainian pilots will be ready to operate Mirage 2000-5 aircraft by the end of the year.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine signed a contract with the French arms company Thales Group to purchase and deliver the second ControlMaster 200 (CM200) air defense system.
It includes:
- the Ground Master 200 aerial surveillance radar,
- radio communication system,
- ControlView air defense control center,
- and portable weapons distribution terminals.
They also signed statements of intent to create a service and repair center for KNDS France / Nexter equipment in Ukraine and to use 3D printing technology to manufacture spare parts for the company's products.
