Russia claims mass drone attack on Sevastopol in occupied Crimea and Russian territory
During the night, Russian air defense successfully thwarted a UAV attack on the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. Drones were also shot down in several other regions within Russia.
Russian mass media, so-called governor of Russian-occupied Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev, the governor of the Bryansk region, Aleksandr Bogomaz, and the governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, reported that.
Occupied Crimea
"A UAV attack is repulsed in Sevastopol; the military shot down one drone in the area of Cape Fiolent, debris fell on the territory of a private house," writes TASS with reference to the representative of the occupation administration Razvozhayev.
Subsequently, around 4:47, 36 minutes after the first report of the "repulse of the attack," RIA Novosti reported:
"Repelling the UAV attack on Sevastopol continues, according to the rescue service, there are no casualties."
At 06:03, a missile threat was announced in Sevastopol.
A follower of the "Krymskiy Veter" [Crimean Wind – ed.] Telegram channel reported that at 6:43, a strike had occurred at Cape Fiolent. More detailed information is expected.
Bryansk region
The governor of the Bryansk region of the Russian Federation, Aleksandr Bogomaz, also announced a mass attack by Ukrainian drones and the downing of 16 unmanned aerial vehicles.
Several times on the night of July 15, Bogomaz allegedly reported the downing of Ukrainian UAVs.
In particular, around 2 a.m., he reported on the alleged downing of six drones over the territory of Sevsky, Pogarskyi, and Brasovsky districts.
Around 3 a.m., he announced the shooting down of three drones over the Zlynkovsky district and one over the Trubchevsky district.
In the morning, Bogomaz reported that five more UAVs were allegedly shot down over the Sevsky district.
Traditionally, the governor repeated that "there were no casualties or damage."
After 6 a.m., Bogomaz reported about another allegedly shot-down drone over the Komarich district.
Lipetsk region
In addition, the Russian authorities reported that the drone fell on the territory of an electric substation in the Lipetsk region of the Russian Federation.
"An unmanned aerial vehicle fell on the territory of an electrical substation in the Stanovlyanskyi area. Law enforcement officers are working at the scene of the crash," the governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, reported.
Artamonov claimed, as usual, that there were "no casualties" caused by the drone's crash and that the power station's operations were supposedly unaffected.
For reference:
On July 1, several explosions rang out in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol, and the local occupation authorities announced the operation of air defense and the destruction of air targets.
As the "Krymskiy Veter" [Crimean Wind] Telegram channel wrote, the explosions were probably in the village of Flotske, where the military unit is located.
Subsequently, the commander of the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces, Mykola Oleshchuk, confirmed the successful destruction of a Russian ammunition depot in the temporarily captured Crimea on July 1.
