The tech startup Antidrone Ukraine just unveiled its latest innovation, a compact and lightweight radio-electronic warfare (EW) system designed for the Ukrainian Defense Forces. Weighing just 10 kilograms (excluding the battery), this portable device can operate independently for 2 to 5 hours.

The Antidrone Ukraine company reported this on Telegram.

What is the problem?

Radio-electronic warfare systems are capable of:

  • jamming enemy communications,
  • scouting potential targets,
  • and transmitting their coordinates to the military "in the field"
  • derailing and "landing" drones,
  • and countering missile strikes in the rear.

As Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky stated, the country is currently working on providing the regions with electronic warfare (EW) systems.

What is the solution?

That's why the technological startup Antidrone Ukraine presented a new light and compact portable electronic warfare system (EW) for Ukraine's armed forces.

How does it work?

The system is designed to protect against Russian drones and is equipped with a modern set of ranges.

The new EW system uses a combination of conventional and digital "sub-protocol" modules, which allows the military to suppress enemy drones in the following ranges effectively:

  • 400−500 MHz;
  • 500−600 MHz;
  • 700−1000 MHz.

The EW system is made in a metal waterproof case and is easy to carry.

An external Li-ion or LiFePo4 battery (optional) provides autonomous operation from 2 to 5 hours.

The device comes with both active and passive cooling mechanisms to prevent overheating. The UPS system has a power output of 200 watts.

For reference:

Earlier, Rubryka reported that Chernihiv schoolchildren created a device to detect drones that would help on the front line.

The inventors plan to strengthen and improve the device based on military feedback to ensure its reliability and effectiveness in combat conditions.

It should be noted that in Cherkasy, developers are making multi-functional ground drones that can be used for mining the territory, delivering ammunition, and evacuating the wounded.
