United to win: US provides Ukraine with military aid package, including Patriot air defense and ammunition

The United States of America has declared a fresh round of military assistance to Ukraine, including the deployment of a Patriot air defense system and ammunition.

The White House reported that.

According to the Biden administration, the estimated cost of the aid package is $225 million. This package will provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its needs, including air defense systems and interceptors, ammunition for missile systems and artillery, and anti-tank weapons.

"The package allocated under the presidential authority (PDA) in the amount of about $225 million will provide Ukraine with additional opportunities to fulfill its most urgent needs," the message states.

What is included in the aid:

  • one Patriot battery;
  • ammunition for national advanced anti-aircraft missile systems (NASAMS);
  • anti-aircraft missiles Stinger;
  • ammunition for highly mobile artillery rocket systems (HIMARS);
  • 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells;
  • equipment and missiles with optical tracking and wire guidance (TOW), launched from a tube, and missiles with wire guidance;
  • Javelin and AT-4 anti-tank complexes;
  • ammunition for small arms;
  • ammunition for detonation,
  •  and spare parts, maintenance, and other support equipment.

"The United States will continue to work together with nearly 50 Alliance members and partners to ensure that the brave defenders of Ukraine receive the critical capabilities needed to combat Russian aggression," the US Department of Defense emphasized.
