During his visit to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation in the United States, Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, expressed hope that the American policy of supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russia's aggression will not change after the presidential elections.

This is stated on the website of the President of Ukraine, Rubryka reports.

"The head of state expressed the hope that the American policy of supporting Ukraine in the fight against Russia's aggression will not change after the presidential elections in November, and it is important that the Russian dictator knows this," the message reads.

As noted, Zelensky emphasized that if the Russian dictator is not stopped in Ukraine, he will go further, and after that, the US will have to defend NATO countries that were previously part of the USSR or in its sphere of influence.

"Everything depends only on the decision of the American people, not on one person. Putin always counts on dividing the world, dividing the USA, dividing European countries. He is afraid of unity," Zelensky said.

The president also thanked the partners for the decision to strengthen Ukraine's air defense with five additional Patriot systems. He noted that more such air defense equipment is needed because Ukraine has a large territory, and Russia uses and combines different types of missiles and changes tactics.

Ukraine needs long-range weapons and permission to use them on airfields on the territory of the Russian Federation, from where planes that constantly launch guided aerial bombs take off. In addition, Ukraine is very much waiting for the F-16 fighters. It is also important when they arrive and how many there will be.

"Russia uses 300 warplanes against Ukraine. We need at least 128 planes to counter them, and these numbers are known to our partners," Zelensky emphasized.
