Russia strikes Ohmatdyt Kyiv children’s hospital in massive missile attack

In Kyiv, an enemy missile attack resulted in eight deaths and 11 injuries. Falling debris was reported in six districts of the capital.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and Serhii Popko, Head of the Kyiv Military Administration (KMA), announced the news, as reported by Rubryka.

By 11:26 AM, there were nine known victims, six of whom were taken to the hospital. The Kyiv Military Administration reported that three people had died.

VLater, the number of deaths increased to five, according to the KMA.

By 11:37 AM, the number of victims had risen to eleven, with eight of them hospitalized.

The mayor also mentioned that one of the premises of a children's medical institution was struck in Kyiv.

Patients of the children's hospital, which was hit by an enemy rocket, are being evacuated to the municipal hospital of the city.

Falling debris was recorded in seven Kyiv districts. Local Telegram channels published a video of the impact near the Lukianivska metro station, which serves as both transportation and shelter for the population. Earlier, Telegram channels wrote about the ongoing evacuation of people from the station.

The head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, commented on the attack on the children's hospital:

"The children's hospital, a targeted attack by the Russians. This shelling targeted civilians and hit the infrastructure; the whole world must see today the consequences of terror, the answer to which can only be force."

Shelling on the night of July 8

On the night of July 8, Russia attacked Ukraine with air and ground-based missiles:

• 4th Kh-101;
• 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles.
• Air defense destroyed 3 X-101s in the Zhytomyr and Cherkasy regions.

In addition, that night, the sound of an explosion was reported in Sumy, Mykolaiv, and Kharkiv.

Explosions were heard in Kropyvnytskyi district and Kryvyi Rih. Later, some missiles changed their direction towards the Kyiv region.
