In July, Latvia will hand over 2,500 drones to Ukraine, costing about €4 million. The deliveries will take place within the drone coalition led by Latvia.

This is reported by Rubryka, referring to the Ministry of Defense of Latvia.

The first batch of 300 drones will be delivered in the coming days.

"The drone coalition is gaining momentum. The next batch will be sent to Ukraine with over 2,500 drones produced by seven Latvian companies. Together with the drone coalition participants, we are constantly working to supply Ukraine with combat drones of various capacities in accordance with the current needs and test requirements of the Ukrainian army ", said Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds.

This year, the Ministry of Defense of Latvia allocated €20 million to the drone coalition, of which more than €10 million is intended to purchase drones from the Latvian defense industry.

In April and May, Latvia transferred to Ukraine 135 combat drones for various purposes and electronic warfare equipment worth about €1 million. This year's priority in deliveries will be FPV drones.

Planned purchases were broken down into batches to allow manufacturers to gradually expand production capacity and adapt and improve samples.

Currently, the International Drone Coalition includes 14 countries: Latvia, Ukraine, Great Britain, Australia, Germany, Denmark, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Great Britain, France, Sweden, and Estonia. These countries have collected more than half a billion euros for the supply of drones to Ukraine and are working on creating a joint fund that will allow for faster and more efficient financing of drone production.
