This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, reports LRT.
"It is possible to change the situation, but it is very difficult. It has many components and many decisions that need to be made. Some of them depend on us, and we make these decisions.
Some decisions depend on our partners; as a rule, they also understand that these decisions must be made," said the head of the foreign policy department.
The minister noted that one of the solutions is the destruction of Russian bombers on airfields and in the air.
"If I had to name two key decisions that must be made to reverse the trend, I would mention the destruction of Russian bombers on airfields and in the air," Kuleba said.
As he noted, this is "the real pain point of the ground forces" of Ukraine.
"What we see as the main reason for the success of the Russians is simply the innumerable guided bombs dropped on our ground forces. They destroy and kill on a massive scale, and sometimes, they simply flatten positions, leaving nothing for defense.
Therefore, as soon as we manage to eliminate the threat of aerial bombs, our ground positions will be strengthened, and it will be very difficult for Russia to move forward," the minister said.
Kuleba said that the second solution that can help change the situation at the front is increasing the ammunition supply.
"The second solution, which everyone has been talking about for months and years, has been working on for months and years, is to increase the supply of ammunition.
If we protect our forces from Russian-guided bombs, if we have enough artillery and ammunition to destroy mobile Russian columns and moving units, it will be a huge investment in changing the trends on the battlefield," he stressed.
The situation at the front
It will be recalled that earlier British intelligence reported that Russia's army controls a large part of Krasnohorivka. In the area of Klishchiivka, the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine achieved tactical success.
Russian troops also captured the village of Shumy in the Donetsk region and are trying to break through to Toretsk.
ISW analysts noted that the Russian military command intends to use the Toretsk offensive to create operational opportunities in the Donetsk region for advancing in either the Chasiv Yar or the Avdiiivka areas.
In addition, the military of the Armed Forces of Ukraine withdrew from the Kanal micro-district in Chasiv Yar. The defense forces have taken up more advantageous positions, but the enemy continues to press.
In total, the Ukrainian army eliminated another 1,200 invaders on July 3, bringing the total loss of Russian troops since the start of the full-scale invasion in manpower to more than 547,470 soldiers.
