Polish General Staff head arrives in Kyiv

Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces Wiesław Kukula arrived in Kyiv on July 4. He arrived in the capital at the invitation of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, General Wieslaw Kukula, started a working meeting in Kyiv by laying a bouquet of flowers at the Wall of Remembrance of the Fallen for Ukraine," the Polish General Staff said in a statement.

It is noted that the general paid a visit to Ukraine at the invitation of Ukraine's Commander-in-Chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi.

"This is another important meeting between the two commanders, which demonstrates solidarity and cooperation between Poland and our eastern neighbor in the face of Russia's aggression," the General Staff added.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces clarified that the generals held fruitful negotiations to strengthen cooperation in countering Russia's aggression.

"Poland has been a reliable partner of Ukraine since the very beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia. We appreciate Poland's military-technical assistance and diplomatic support. We are also grateful for assisting in preparing our units, which have already taken up the state's defense. We can defeat the aggressor only together," Syrskyi said.

Poland's assistance

Since the beginning of the large-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, Poland has been comprehensively helping Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression. In particular, Poland is one of the countries where many Ukrainians found safety after fleeing the war.

We will remind you that at the end of April, the Polish government extended temporary protection for Ukrainian refugees, including men, until September 2025.

It was recently reported that Poland will announce the NATO-Ukraine training center's operational readiness at the Washington NATO summit.

The creation of the center in Poland was announced in February. It should, in particular, summarise the lessons of the war in Ukraine and support Kyiv in the fight against Russia.

In addition, Poland may sign a bilateral agreement on security guarantees with Ukraine before the NATO summit.
