Ukrainian pilot Savieliev immortalized on glory memorial in US
At the air base in the city of Columbus, Mississippi, the name of the pilot of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Vlad Savieliev, is engraved on the memorial of glory, next to the American heroes.
The commander of the Air Force announced this, Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk, Rubryka reports.
The wife of Vlad Savieliev, Lyubov, and her daughter Kira visited the American airbase in Columbus, Mississippi.
Here, on the memorial of glory, next to the American heroes, is engraved the name of her husband, a pilot of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At this air base, Savieliev took a flight training course even before the full-scale invasion of Russia.

"In Ukraine, he was one of the TOP candidates for the F-16!" is stated in the message.
However, a year ago, on June 23, after hitting the enemy with American bombs and missiles from the MiG-29 plane, the Ukrainian pilot was killed by a Russian missile.
"I asked Lyudmyla to thank partners for their strong support and to hand over the coin of the Air Force commander to the American air base commander, Colonel Justin Grieve," the lieutenant general said.
Oleshchuk also signed a "war calendar" for 2024. On its pages are the comrades of Savieliev, as well as the equipment and people who defend the Ukrainian sky every day and every night and fight the enemy on the ground.

"There is also a MiG-29 here, the plane on which Major Savieliev flew, and an F-16, on which Saveliev Jr., Savieliev's brother, will fly.

It was also reported that the first group of Ukrainian pilots has already completed training on F-16 combat aircraft at the military base in Arizona in the United States of America.
Also, the first foreign instructor on the operational use of F-16 combat aircraft has already arrived in Ukraine. This is the first officer of the flight staff of the Air Force of Greece.
