Ukrainian troops shoot down Russian Su-25 aircraft in Donetsk region

The Ukrainian National Guard soldiers destroyed an enemy Su25 attack aircraft in the Donetsk region.

The National Guard reported that.

"The guardsmen discovered an enemy Su-25, also known as "Hrach," which was making a combat sortie," the report says.

Thus, the consolidated calculation of the portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) "Ihla" of the 31st National Guard of Ukraine brigade acted promptly and professionally.

"A well-hit shot shot down the Su-25 attack aircraft," the military stated.

It should be noted that the Ukrainian military shot down another Russian plane on the morning of June 28. The General Staff clarified that on the last day, Ukraine's armed forces eliminated almost 1,200 Russian invaders.

Moreover, the last day was really successful. In addition to the plane and the eliminated occupiers, Ukrainian troops also destroyed 50 drones and 60 artillery systems.

During the last 24 hours, Toretsk, Pokrovsk, and Kurakhiv have remained the most active areas on the front.

Only on the Pokrovsk front, the Russian Federation has suffered casualties of over 300 soldiers.

As the military command reported, the situation in the areas of hostilities is challenging; however, it is under the control of Ukraine's defenders.

The aviation and missile units of Ukraine successfully attacked and caused damage to:

  • five areas of concentration of enemy personnel and anti-tank weapons,
  • anti-aircraft missile complex,
  • radar station,
  • three warehouses with enemy ammunition.

In total, according to data as of June 28, Ukrainian defense forces have already shot down 360 Russian aircraft of various types.

As Rubryka wrote, on June 11, the General Staff of Ukraine's armed forces reported that the Defense Forces of Ukraine had shot down a Russian Su-25 attack aircraft on the Pokrovsk front.

Furthermore, Ukraine's intelligence has announced that the Su-57 was damaged at the airfield in the Astrakhan region, based on satellite images of the aircraft parking lot.

In turn, the representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, Andriy Yusov, stated on the air of the telethon that during the June 8 attack on the airfield "Akhtubinsk" in the Astrakhan region, not one, but two Russian Su-57 fighters could have been damaged.
