Solutions to win: over two million Ukrainians utilize Reserve+ app for military data updates, with 1.1 mln eligible for drafting
One million and one hundred thousand conscripts are eligible for drafting among the users of the Reserve+ application who updated their data as of May 18.
The spokesman of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Senior Lieutenant Dmytro Lazutkin, reported that on Army TV, according to Army Inform.
What is the problem?
The ongoing war, instigated by aggressive Russia, persists. Today, the Ukrainian army requires highly skilled, driven, mentally and physically prepared individuals. Due to a significant decline in voluntary mobilization compared to 2022, Ukraine seeks ways to effectively enlist as many individuals as possible to protect the country.
What is the solution?
As of May 18, the revised mobilization law went into effect, requiring all individuals between 18 and 60 who are enlisted, drafted, or on reserve duty to update their information. This duty is fulfilled through the application, which the Ministry of Defense launched on the same day the law took effect. This app, called Reserve+, was explicitly developed for conscripts, making it easy and efficient to update personal details without visiting a military enlistment office.
How does it work?
Right now, the application allows users to update their information and obtain an electronic military registration document that holds the same legal value as a paper one. In the future, the developers plan to incorporate additional features into Reserve+, such as deferments and reservation of conscripts, electronic referral to the Military Medical Commission, and even online recruitment and training for conscripts.
Does it really work?
Out of all the users on the Reserve+ app who updated their information by May 18, there are one million and one hundred thousand conscripts eligible for drafting.
"This is vital information, as numerous individuals are exempted and eligible for deferment. Specifically, over one million people can potentially be called up and enlisted into the Defense Forces," the officer emphasized.
As Lazutkin said, about 2.3 million Ukrainians have already updated their data through the Reserve+ application.
"They will not be able to help those servicemen who defend our country in the next few days, but in the long run, it is essential because we are discussing improving military records. The country must know who to count on during defense," he emphasized.
For reference:
The platform has been up and running since May 18, when the revised mobilization law went into effect. Under this law, all men between the ages of 18 and 60 are required to update their data within 60 days, by July 16 at the latest. Reserve+ offers a convenient way to update the information and access the "Oberih" registry.
Once users have updated their data through the app, they will be able to view information about themselves from the registry.
Since June 18, the Reserve+ application has also included a QR code. Authorized officials can scan this code to retrieve information about one's status as a conscript, a member of the military, or a reservist quickly.
In addition, new functions will soon be added to the Reserve+ mobile application, particularly electronic referral for passing the medical military commission and online recruiting.
