The Russian invaders attempted to target critical infrastructure in Ukraine during a nighttime assault on June 21. However, all hostile missiles were successfully destroyed.

The spokesman of the Air Force of Ukraine's armed forces, Illia Yevlash, reported that on the air of the telethon.

"All four missiles were taken out. The enemy initiated attacks in the Kirovohrad and Kherson regions from the very first night. They attempted to strike our crucial targets in the usual manner but were unsuccessful," he said.

The spokesman emphasized that the enemy did not use kamikaze drones that night. However, the defenders were preparing for different scenarios that the enemy could use.

"The resources of even such a large country are not unlimited. In addition, in the third year of the war, the Russians already understand that it is not so easy to attack objects in some cases since we also take measures to secure our infrastructure objects from enemy attacks," Yevlash emphasized.

As the representative for the Air Force stated, the invaders are attempting to provoke Ukrainian air defense. As a result, the enemy is utilizing various tactics, including coordinated attacks and others.

"Like last night, we only saw guided missiles. Sometimes, the enemy pauses and doesn't attack at all. So it's kind of a game of attrition. They try to find weak holes while we maneuver the available forces and means to repel these attacks," he added.

Rubryka previously reported that on the night of June 21, air defense forces shot down four guided air missiles in the Kirovohrad and Kherson regions.
