During the night, civil energy infrastructure facilities were damaged in four regions of Ukraine due to an enemy attack. The DTEK [the largest private investor in the energy industry of Ukraine – ed.] thermal power plant was targeted by Russian troops, resulting in three energy workers being injured and significant damage to the plant's equipment.

"Ukrenergo" reported that on Telegram.

Tonight, critical infrastructure facilities came under attack. According to the Air Force, the strike's main target was Ukraine's eastern region, specifically the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"Tonight, Russian UAVs inflicted a new massive attack on the objects of the civilian energy infrastructure of Ukraine," the message reads.

It is noted that the equipment of energy infrastructure facilities was damaged in:

  • Vinnytsia,
  • Dnipropetrovsk,
  • Donetsk,
  • Kyiv regions.

The Ministry of Energy reported that the attack caused destruction and damage to equipment.

"Consumers were cut off. The consequences are being clarified. Energy experts are already working on their elimination," the ministry said.

On the night of June 20, Russian occupation forces attempted to target vital infrastructure in the Kyiv region during a major air attack. The strikes were successfully eliminated.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack, as announced by Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the regional military administration.

"At night, the enemy attacked our region with strike drones. No hits to residential or critical infrastructure objects were recorded. There were no casualties," he said.

According to him, the debris fell near one of the settlements. As a result, a fire broke out on the grass floor, which the rescuers quickly extinguished.

Power lines and equipment of one of the enterprises were also damaged by debris.

"All the consequences of the attack are promptly eliminated. The specialized services continue their work," the head of the regional military administration added, thanking the air defense forces for their professional work.

On the night of June 20, the Russian military also attacked the DTEK thermal power plant.

"Another difficult night for the Ukrainian energy industry. The Russians fired at one of DTEK's thermal power plants. Three of our colleagues were injured. Medics are providing all possible assistance. The station's equipment was also seriously damaged," DTEK reported on Telegram.

It is reported that energy workers are currently working on eliminating the consequences of the attack.

DTEK emphasized that this marks the seventh large-scale attack on the company's thermal power plants in the past three months.

"Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the DTEK thermal power plants have been fired upon more than 180 times. During this period, 53 workers were injured, and three energy workers were killed as a result of shelling at the stations," the report says.
