“Eco-Consciousness from the Cradle” project completed: 43,000 babies received eco-diaper kits

The BGV fund and donors – German partners dm-drogerie markt and #WeAreAllUkrainians – provided 43,000 eco-diaper kits to families with babies aged 0 to 3 years.

The project's logistics partner, Nova Poshta, delivered all the kits to the nearest branches for families across Ukraine (except temporarily occupied territories) at their own expense.

This support from donors helped Ukrainian families save money and reduce waste that pollutes the environment.

Each kit included reusable diapers that can be washed and special inserts that attach with Velcro and effectively absorb the baby's waste. The kits are designed for children of different weights: S (3–8 kg), M (7–12 kg), L (11–18 kg).

The "Eco-Consciousness the Cradle" project covered 3,760 settlements (cities, towns, and villages) in 23 regions of Ukraine.

The BGV fund received the most applications from the following five regions: Kyiv — 5,911; Dnipropetrovsk — 4,206; Rivne — 3,680; Kharkiv — 2,866; and Lviv — 2,596.

"Eco-Consciousness the Cradle" is currently the fund's largest project in terms of the number of recipients. The project started on February 6, 2024.

The BGV Charity Fund's team also surveyed families who received the eco-diaper kits as part of the project's quality monitoring.

The team processed 5,857 questionnaires. According to the survey, 96% of parents are satisfied with the charity initiative and the kit's contents. 80% of moms and dads said the eco-diapers were very convenient and comfortable to use, and for 40%, the result was better than they expected. 76.7% noted that they were satisfied with the organization and logistics of the project to receive the kits. For 96.8% of recipients, communication with the BGV fund's team was comfortable. 74% said they want to continue using eco-diapers. Almost 90% of respondents believe such projects fulfill an educational function and encourage greater environmental care.
