United to win: Canada to send over 2,000 CRV7 rocket engines, small arms cartridges, and remote control systems to Ukraine

Canada will provide Ukraine with over 2,000 CRV7 rocket engines and cartridges for small arms and remote control systems.

Yahoo reports this.

Canada's Defense Ministry said that Canada would send the first batch of more than 2,000 CRV7 rocket engines to Ukrainian forces, which had previously been decommissioned.

The Canadian government said they intend to start supplying the engines in the coming weeks.

It is known that Canada has more than 83 thousand such rocket engines that are no longer in use.

Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said during a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Rammstein format that his country would also provide:

  • 29 Nanuk remote weapon systems,
  • more than 130 thousand cartridges for small arms.

For reference:

CRV7 is a 70-mm air-guided unguided missile of Canadian development with a complex tail.

These missiles, created in the 1980s, were designed to strike ground targets and were primarily used during the Cold War.

CRV7 rocket engines can be used to arm helicopters in the Ukrainian army. Specialized publications also note that ground launchers can be made from CRV7.

It should be noted that Canada has been supporting Ukraine by providing weapons, financial aid, and humanitarian assistance. Canada also participated in training the Ukrainian military.

It was reported that Canada would send four armored combat vehicles to Ukraine to evacuate the wounded. The Ukrainian army will receive 50 such vehicles.

Canada will also allocate 3 million Canadian dollars (about 2.3 million US dollars) to pay for the Ukrainian production of combat drones for the needs of Ukraine's armed forces.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Canada has already provided Ukraine with a variety of financial, humanitarian, military, and other assistance worth more than $10 billion.

It should be noted that Canada provided Ukraine with 200 Senator armored personnel carriers to help in the fight against Russian aggression.

The Canada-Ukraine Foundation also handed Ukraine 10 C-class Ford Transit 2023 ambulances, explicitly manufactured for transporting seriously ill patients.
