Germany to transfer 25% of its Patriot system stocks to Ukraine – Defense Minister Pistorius
Germany will soon transfer a quarter of its Patriot air defense system stock to Ukraine in light of the impending delivery of the third system.
According to Ukrinform, Boris Pistorius, the head of the German Ministry of Defense, stated this during the Ramstein meeting.
"We will transfer the third Patriot system to Ukraine. In this way, Germany provides a total of three systems for Ukraine. This is a quarter of our own stock of such systems; it is no longer possible to transfer more. The others can probably give one at a time," the minister said.
Pistorius also added that Germany provides training for Ukrainian fighters in managing these air defense systems and transfers missiles to Ukraine.
Another 68 missiles, managed to be purchased by the efforts of several countries, will be delivered in the coming days and weeks.
According to the minister, the partners are currently studying the possibilities of increasing Patriot production. However, the problem is that this will take time.
Answering a question about Taurus long-range missiles, Pistorius said, "everything has been said about it."
