Ukrainian air defense forces thwart Russian combined air strike by shooting down almost all of enemy targets
On June 12, the Russian forces conducted a combined aerial attack on Ukraine, employing a mix of cruise and ballistic missiles, along with attack drones. Ukrainian air defense units successfully intercepted all enemy targets except for one "Iskander-M" missile.

As the general reported, on the night of June 12, the occupiers launched a missile-air strike against Ukraine, using air and ground-based missiles, as well as attack UAVs.
In total, according to Oleshchuk, the Russian invaders used 30 means of air attack:
- four Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles from Tu-95 MS strategic aviation aircraft (launch area – Saratov region of the Russian Federation);
- one Iskander-M ballistic missile (from the territory of Crimea);
- one Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile (from the airspace of the Tambov region of the Russian Federation);
- 24 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type (launch area – Yeisk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk region of Russia).
The following were involved in repelling an enemy air attack, as emphasized by the commander:
- Anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force;
- Mobile fire groups;
- Means of electronic warfare of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As a result of anti-aircraft combat, defenders of the Ukrainian sky destroyed 29 air targets:
- 1 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missile;
- 4 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles;
- 24 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type.
Anti-aircraft defense worked in the Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Kharkiv, and Vinnytsia regions.

Initially, the air force fighters reported that on the night of June 11, the occupiers had launched attack drones across the country.
Around 3 a.m., an air raid alert was also announced in Kyiv and several regions.
The Air Force also disclosed that Russian aggressors had fired cruise missiles from TU–95ms aircraft. The missiles were launched from the Cherkasy region and headed towards the Kyiv region and further towards Kyiv. Additionally, drones were flying in the same direction.
Consequences of an enemy attack:
- Missiles were launched into Kyiv from the south in multiple waves. The Ukrainian military successfully destroyed all incoming targets using air defense measures.
- A fire broke out at an industrial facility in one of the districts of the Kyiv region. One person was also injured as a result of falling debris.
