Russia installs eight new defensive barges to protect Kerch bridge from Ukrainian attacks — British intelligence
Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Great Britain drew attention to the latest measures of the Russian Federation to protect the Kerch Bridge from Ukrainian attacks.
Rubryka writes about this, referring to the intelligence review of the British Ministry of Defense as of June 8.
British specialists analyzed satellite images and identified the appearance of eight barges on the southern side of the Kerch Bridge. Installation of barges began on May 10 and was completed on May 22.
"These barges were placed by Russian forces in an attempt to defend the bridge and shipping channel, reducing the angles of approach for Ukrainian Unmanned Surface Vehicles," the review emphasized.
It is noted that previous structures were damaged by storms, which reduced their effectiveness.
We will remind you that, according to the guerrilla movement ATESH, Russians placed old barges along the Kerch bridge to protect against attacks by Ukrainian naval drones and also strengthened air defense in the area.
The message indicates that such actions may indicate preparations for a strike against Russian military logistics.
"The barge in the port of Kavkaz was only a preparatory stage. We expect roasting. Our agents are working hard to make Crimea a trap for the ruscists," the partisans emphasized.
We will remind that in November 2023 in Crimea, a storm blew down barriers that protected the Kerch bridge and the Sevastopol bay from attacks.
Special booms were installed to protect the bridge from drone attacks near the Kerch-Yenikale canal under the Kerch Bridge. They look like barricades with spikes and were supposed to prevent attacks from Ukraine, which "in the past successfully disabled the bridge for several months." Moreover, the enemy used to easily remove them earlier when ships passed along the road.
As previously reported, British intelligence suggests that Ukrainian strikes on a ferry crossing of Russians in the occupied Crimea near Kerch have seriously complicated their logistics, in particular military purposes.
