Australia to allocate over €12 mln to restore Ukrainian energy industry

Australia joins the list of sponsor countries of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund and plans to make a grant contribution in the amount of more than €12 million.

This is reported by the Ministry of Energy, Rubryka writes.

"Australia joins the list of sponsoring countries of the Ukraine Energy Support Fund by announcing a grant contribution in the amount of about 12.26 million euros," the department noted.

As stated in the department, the total amount of grant contributions from partners (transferred to the Fund and declared) has already increased to more than €494 million.

"We thank our Australian partners for supporting the Ukrainian energy industry in these difficult times. The funds will be used to purchase the necessary equipment for restoration work at energy facilities that were destroyed due to Russian attacks," said Herman Halushchenko, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

What is known about assistance in the restoration of Ukraine's damaged energy infrastructure

As you know, a number of countries have joined the restoration of Ukraine's energy facilities, which were damaged by Russian troops during massive attacks. In particular:

• Belgium will allocate another €9 million in aid to Ukraine for the restoration of damaged energy infrastructure;
• Great Britain announced an additional contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund in the amount of 20 million pounds (€23 million);
• Ukrainian energy companies received three transformers and 16 units of special equipment from German partners;
• The Swedish government provides a new energy package for Ukraine in the total amount of SEK 650 million (over €56 million).
• For Kharkiv, which is subject to regular air attacks by the Russian military, the United States delivered 59 transformers and other equipment;
• Austrian government will allocate €5 million for the Ukraine Energy Support Fund;
• Argentina can help Ukraine with spare parts in the restoration of energy and civil infrastructure.
