Ukrainian forces strike two Russian vessels in occupied Crimea

Ukraine's intelligence has officially confirmed the destruction of two enemy boats of the "Tunets" type in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Additionally, footage of the operation was released.

Ukraine's intelligence reported this.

"On May 30, Ukraine's "Group 13" special unit, using Magura V5 maritime attack drones, successfully attacked the ship and boat depot of Russia, the occupying aggressor of Crimea," the message reads.

As reported by Ukrainian intelligence, to counter the approaching naval drone attack at Vuzka Bay, Russian forces in Crimea deployed combat aircraft into the sky a total of 32 times, specifically:

•  Su-27/30/35 aircraft,
• MiG-29,
• Be-12,
• An-26,
• Ka-27/29 and Mi-8 helicopters.

Also, the invaders randomly used small arms and 30-mm cannons.

"However, nothing prevented the special forces of Ukraine's intelligence from successfully completing their combat mission: as a result of the strike, two Russian boats were destroyed – according to preliminary data, high-speed amphibious transport KS-701 "Tunets." The information is being updated," the scouts noted.

According to reports, the Russian occupiers halted the traffic on the Crimean bridge at night. At around 1 a.m., explosions rang out in Kerch.

It should be noted that last year, the Ukrainian military already destroyed at least two such boats. The occupiers use them, in particular, to patrol the Kerch Bridge.

In particular, last autumn, the Ukrainian Navy's successfully demolished a boat in the northwest region of the Black Sea while attempting to expel the occupants.

The KS-701 "Tunets" type boats are pretty prevalent.

They feature a diesel engine and an aluminum hull and are utilized for both military and civilian applications.

Characteristics of the boat:

• the length of the boat hull is 8 meters,
• width – 2.5 meters,
• engine power – 250 horsepower,
• speed – 85 km/h.

The boat can accommodate from 6 to 12 people.

According to Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine's intelligence agency, the Magura V5 naval drones are set to overtake standard ships soon, as they are upgraded.

It is worth mentioning that Sea Baby sea drones of the Security Service of Ukraine were equipped with "Hrad" MLRS. These systems have already been successfully used against the Russian invaders.

The Magura V5 marine drone, used by Ukraine's Group 13 special unit, successfully took out a Russian speed boat in the Black Sea on May 6. It was discovered that the drone was armed with R–73 anti-aircraft missiles.
