The enemy forces planned to seize the city of Vovchansk and advance towards Kharkiv within days. Additionally, the Russian invaders may launch an assault on the Kharkiv region from Sumy.

The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Synehubov, stated this in an interview with "Ukrainian Pravda."

He confirmed that the Russians could attack the Kharkiv region from Sumy. According to him, the occupiers should have also advanced in the Zolochiv community, 35 kilometers northwest of Kharkiv.

This possibility is still being considered.

"They didn't count on the rapid resistance of our military, I would say even more, according to the plans voiced by the prisoners – they were going to capture Vovchansk in two days and reach Kharkiv approximately in five days," Synehubov said.

The head of the regional military administration has stated that despite the enemy's previous plans to seize Kharkiv, there is no imminent danger of this happening. The Russian army is attempting to establish a presence in occupied positions, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces are working diligently to prevent this.

Synehubov also noted that there is a plan for the evacuation of Kharkiv and agreements with Ukrzaliznytsia.

"We know how many trains there will be, when they will leave, when they will return to Kharkiv, where they will evacuate our people and how many. However, currently, there are no threats regarding the occupation, capture, or encirclement of the city of Kharkiv," he added.

For reference:

As you know, Russian occupation troops entered the north of the Kharkiv region, where hostilities continue. The occupiers reached the city of Vovchansk. According to the Commander-in-Chief of Ukraine's armed forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, the invaders got stuck in street battles.

Furthermore, the Russians stepped up their efforts on the Kupiansk front in the eastern part of the Kharkiv region. The General Staff reported that Russia had achieved some success near Ivanovka. As of today, there have been a total of 10 armed confrontations in that specific direction.
