The Russians have announced a nighttime drone attack in the Belgorod region. A fire broke out at a local oil refinery in Tuapse, Krasnodar territory, due to the same drone attack. Furthermore, explosions were heard in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar territory, on May 17.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, the Russian publication Astra, the Russian government's operational headquarters, and several Russian media outlets have reported this.

Belgorod region

"Kamikaze drones immediately attacked several settlements in the Belgorod district," Gladkov wrote.

One of the UAVs attacked a gas station near the village of Bezsonovka. As a result of the explosion, one of the tanks caught fire. Firefighters promptly extinguished the fire.

In addition, in the village of Oktyabrskyi, a kamikaze drone attacked a car with a driver and three passengers (mother, father, and child).

As a result of the explosion, the woman died on the spot from her injuries. The boy was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but doctors could not save him.

City of Tuapse (Krasnodar territory)

The news broadcasted a video of a blazing fire pit and smoke engulfing the plant because of a fire. And this was the exact moment of the UAV attack.

In Russian Telegram channels, they discuss the air defense response to a drone attack in this city. It is reported that the siren alarm has been activated. According to locals, the drone attack was aimed at the Tuapse Refinery.

At the same time, representatives of the local authorities confirmed the attack of drones on the oil plant, where "as a result of the fall" of one of the two UAVs, "a flash occurred on the territory of the refinery."

The emergency services have started extinguishing the fire, and it is contained. According to preliminary information, "there are no victims."

Also, messages from local residents appeared on the network, indicating communication interruptions in the city.

Novorossiysk (Krasnodar territory, Russian Federation)

On the night of May 17, a series of explosions rang out in the city of Novorossiysk (Krasnodar Territory, Russian Federation) due to a drone attack.

It is noted that an attack by drones could have been carried out on the local port.

Footage of nighttime explosions in Novorossiysk was released online. The video also shows flashes in the sky and traces of fire.

"Residents report that the UAV's goal in Novorossiysk is a port and an oil depot," writes the Cheka-OGPU's Telegram channel.

Later, the Russian media reported that the port in this city had its electricity cut off.

The authorities of the Krasnodar region say that the night attack on Novorossiysk was "unsuccessful."

According to local governor Veniamin Kondratiev in a Telegram statement, more than ten drones were "suppressed" by air defense forces, and local fires broke out due to the fall of UAV debris. He says there are no casualties.

At the same time, the propaganda media say that drones hit the Novorossiysk fuel oil terminal and the Transnafta terminal.

According to Astra, residents counted 33 drones and more than 35 explosions in Novorossiysk that night. This is how the press "reacted" to the governor of the Krasnodar region's statement about the "suppression" of 10 drones by air defense forces.

It's important to mention that Z-publications and statements from Russian military personnel mention reports of "hits" in Novorossiysk. This is likely referring to the port area.

The network also reports that drones struck an oil depot, a railway station in the Krasnodar territory, and the port in Novorossiysk.

The press also reported that Main Street was closed to traffic in the city after the night attack.

In the morning, it became known that in the city of Novorossiysk, after the drone attack, public transport is not working, the local authorities have also canceled classes in educational institutions, and traffic on some streets has been blocked.

For reference:

It should be noted that in this Russian city of the Krasnodar region, explosions at various objects due to drone attacks are not the first time.

On December 4, there were reports of air defense activity and explosions in Novorossiysk possibly caused by a missile strike.
