Russians target Ukraine’s energy facilities overnight

On the night of April 27, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine, using various types of missiles, including ballistic ones. Dnipropetrovsk region, Lviv region, and Ivano-Frankiv region were under attack.

Rubryka writes about this, referring to the Telegram of the Air Force, the monitor channel of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

At first, it was reported late in the evening about the takeoff of the Russian Tu-95MS aircraft.

"The activity of Tu-95MS (number to be specified) from the Olenya airfield (Murmansk region) was recorded, flying in the southeast direction. We will inform you additionally in case of missile threat and cruise missile launches," the military wrote.

Later, at 3.45 a.m., an air raid alert sounded across Ukraine. The Air Force emphasized that the enemy launched cruise missiles, Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, and other high-speed targets.

According to the monitoring channel, during the attack, the enemy used:

• Kh-101/555 cruise missiles (launched by at least five Tu-95 aircraft from the Saratov region of the Russian Federation and the Caspian Sea);
• Kalibr cruise missiles (probably launched from submarines in the Black Sea);
• guided air cruise missiles Kh-59/69/35 from Su-34/Su-35 aircraft;
• hypersonic aeroballistic missiles of the X-47M2 Kinzhal complex from the Ryazan/Tula regions.

"X-101/555 missiles covered the longest distance of ~2,111 km before reaching Stryi, the Lviv region," the channel writes.

In general, Dnipro, Pavlohrad, Kryvyi Rih, Stryi, and some settlements of the Dnipropetrovsk and Ivano-Frankivsk regions were under enemy attack this morning.

During the two-hour air battle, some of the missiles were destroyed by air defense forces.

"The rocket attack lasted two hours. Air defense forces destroyed part of the rockets," the monitor channel summarized.

In turn, the Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko, reported that the enemy attacked the country's energy infrastructure in three regions.

According to him, the equipment is damaged. At one of the facilities, the shift chief was injured, and the energy engineer received a concussion.

In particular, objects in Dnipropetrovsk, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv regions were attacked

"The consequences of the attacks are being clarified. Work on their elimination is ongoing," the energy minister added.

Subsequently, DTEK, the largest private investor in the energy industry in Ukraine, noted that Russia attacked four DTEK thermal power stations, seriously damaging the equipment.

"Unfortunately, according to preliminary information, there are victims. We are providing all necessary assistance. Enterprise equipment was seriously damaged.

At the moment, energy workers are trying to eliminate the consequences of the attack. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the DTEK thermal power stations have been fired upon more than 170 times," the company reported.

We will remind that on April 26, Russian troops dropped anti-aircraft missiles on Sumy, striking an industrial object. Nikopol, Dnipropetrovsk region, was also shelled by artillery. Two people were injured, including a nine-year-old boy.  As a result of the Russian attack on the city of Dergachi in the Kharkiv region, two children were injured.
