European Commission grants Ukraine €1.5 bln in macro-financial assistance
On April 24, the European Commission announced the allocation to Ukraine of a tranche of 1.5 billion euros of macro-financial assistance from a large package of support in the amount of 50 billion euros.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, reported that on X (Twitter).
As the head of the European Commission noted, these funds are vital to support the functioning of the civil service in Ukraine while the country is fighting Russian aggression.
Ukraine is carrying a heavy burden on its shoulders for all of us.
Today, we disburse an additional €1.5 bn, under the €50 bn Ukraine Facility.
This is vital to keep Ukraine's state & services running, while it fights back the aggressor.
Europe remains united and resolute.

For reference:
It is worth noting that Ukraine already received the first tranche of EUR 4.5 billion in March of this year.
As reported, in February 2024, the EU approved the regulations of the Ukraine Facility program, according to which the volume of EU support to Ukraine during 2024-2027 will amount to 50 billion euros.
The plan for the Ukraine Facility is a technical document necessary for implementing the program. The Cabinet of Ministers [Ukraine's government – ed.] approved the Plan on March 18, 2024.
It is worth adding that the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto, threatened to block the allocation of 1.5 billion euros of aid to Ukraine from the European Union due to "discrimination" of Hungarian companies.
