Denmark plans to construct centers for orphaned children’s psychological recovery in three Ukrainian cities

Denmark plans to establish centers in Ukraine to provide psychological support for children without parental care. These centers will be constructed in three cities.

What is the problem?

"Today, support for Ukrainian children suffering from the war is critical. More than 27,000 children live in institutions and need a family and a new home," Yuliia Svyrydenko, First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy, said.

What is the solution?

Therefore, Denmark plans to build centers in Ukraine for the psychological rehabilitation of children who are deprived of parental care.

It is noted that the centers will be integrated into the communities of the selected cities. Currently, the negotiation process between the Danish side and the local authorities of the elected communities is ongoing.

"We are truly thankful to Denmark for this significant humanitarian project. It will also have an economic aspect. All of these homes will be constructed using materials produced in Ukraine. This is why Ukrainian businesses will play a significant role in the project. As a result, Denmark will also aid in the promotion of our domestic manufacturers," Yuliia Svyrydenko emphasized.

How does it work?

The "Spaces for Children's Life" project involves providing comprehensive support services to children, such as psychosocial support.

Additionally, plans have been made for:

• Social areas;
• Recreational zones that will be accessible not only to complex residents but also to other members of nearby neighborhoods.

The project also provides for the construction of bomb shelters. All buildings will later be handed over to local communities. The project is planned to be implemented in four years.

A feature of the project is environmental friendliness.

The idea involves building homes that significantly reduce CO2 emissions while adhering to several essential principles:

• homes must be environmentally friendly;
• versatile;
• simple;
• contemporary;
• and easily expandable.

As reported, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine and the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Communal Services of Denmark concluded agreements on partnership in the field of renewable energy sources with a particular emphasis on biogas.

It was previously reported that Ukraine plans to become a European hub for the development of renewable energy, especially solar and wind generation, hydrogen technologies, and bioenergy.

Furthermore, the Danish government has decided to grant 40 million Danish kroner (which equates to approximately 5.8 million euros) to the Ukrainian energy system, primarily due to Russia's recent violent attacks on Ukraine's infrastructure.
