Putin issues decree to call up 150,000 citizens over 18 for military service
Russia's Putin has presented a decree on the spring draft, calling on another 150,000 citizens to join military service.
The signed document states that 150,000 people will be called up for military service in Russia from 1 April to 15 July. Citizens aged 18 to 30 will be called up for military service.
Kremlin traditionally holds conscription twice a year: in spring and fall.
Moscow plans to replenish the ranks of its soldiers. The UK intelligence predicted that Putin plans to recruit another 170,000 people for the war against Ukraine.
Kremlin leader has said that by the end of the year, he will have recruited half a million Russians to fight against Ukraine, as 617,000 are filling ranks of the military.
Hidden mobilization continues in the occupied territories when Moscow-appointed authorities kidnap or threaten the locals in turn to recruit them in so-called "republican" forces.
On the occupied left bank of the Kherson region, Russian forces collected information about people under the guise of "elections" to mobilize them later.
British intelligence believes Russia's plans to create two new armies this year will face a lack of equipment and infrastructure problems.
