The head of the German government stated this in a video podcast, according to European Pravda, Die Welt.
"Peace without freedom means oppression. There is no peace without justice. That is why we support Ukraine in its struggle for a just peace – for as long as it will be necessary," said Scholz.
As the chancellor emphasized, Christians worldwide pray for a more peaceful world at Easter services.
"We all want a more peaceful world. People in the Middle East and Ukraine also want peace," said the head of the German government.
Scholz emphasized that Ukraine's support is needed "also for us, for our security."
"For many decades, peace in Europe was based on a fundamental principle: borders should not be moved by force. Never again! And Vladimir Putin's Russia has violated this principle," he said.
The chancellor emphasized that ensuring this principle works again is in their hands, "continuing to support Ukraine – resolutely and balanced."
He said Germany would also invest more in its own security and hold the country together rather than allow itself to be torn apart.
"All the more so because we are united by the conviction that the law should prevail over violence," he added.
As Scholz emphasized, this is a prerequisite for peace, especially today.
It should be noted that earlier, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Annalena Baerbock, said that the situation on the battlefield in Ukraine would worsen because "Putin's cruelty no longer has limits."
"He makes it more than clear that he is beyond the bounds of rational arguments and human values. And he certainly does not want to negotiate," Baerbock said.
For reference:
Germany is the second largest contributor to Ukraine's aid efforts, having approved 28 billion euros in military assistance.
It is worth noting that Warsaw and Berlin will create a coalition of armored vehicles, the purpose of which will be to support Ukraine.
Earlier, the Coalition of Armored Vehicles in Support of Ukraine was opened in Warsaw: the participants developed a consolidated position on strengthening the technical park of Ukraine's armed forces with certain types of armored vehicles and organizing their repair system.
It should be noted that Paris and Berlin recently reached an agreement that will enable the French-German company KNDS, which creates, in particular, tanks, to establish a production unit in Ukraine.
In addition, as part of its aid to Ukraine, Germany will pay for the purchase of 180,000 ammunitions at the initiative of the Czech Republic.
