Russian drones attack eastern and southern regions of Ukraine by night

During the night of March 26, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with drones.

The Ukrainian air defense forces downed all of them, Rubryka reports, citing the country's authorities.

According to Ukrainian Air Force Commander General Mykola Oleshchuk, the Russians targeted the eastern and southern regions of the country with 12 Shahed drones launched from Cape Chauda in occupied Crimea and Russia's Kursk Oblast. 

Around 02:00 a.m., the southern Mykolaiv and Kherson regions were warned of the threat of Shahed drones from the Black Sea. 

The Russian troops also sent two guided S-300 missiles toward Ukraine's Donetsk region.

Oleshchuk stated that the Ukrainian air defense brought down all 12 Shahed drones. Mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces in the Mykolaiv and Kharkiv regions repelled the aerial drone attacks.

Meanwhile, the Southern Defense Forces reported that air defenders conducted a half-hour successful operation against Russian aerial targets overnight.

"Russian terrorists directed three Shahed-131/136 attack drones into our operational zone. All three drones were destroyed over the Mykolaiv region," they added.

The Telegram channel "Nikolaevsky Vanyok" reported that S-300/S-400 ballistic missiles hit the area. The public page "Operativny Pokrovsk, Mironohrad, Selydove" reported an explosion in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region.

Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov announced that, according to initial reports, the air defense forces downed at least eight Russian drones over the Kharkiv region.

Also, according to the Head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, air defense in the region destroyed three Shahed-131/136 drones overnight on March 26.
