Following the announcement, explosions rocked the city. The Kyiv City Military Administration reported the activation of air defense systems, Rubryka reports.
According to initial information, debris from Russian missiles was detected in the capital's Pecherskyi, Holosiivskyi, Solomianskyi, and Dniprovskyi districts. Debris damaged a residential building in the Pecherskyi district.
"Emergency services are heading to the scene," the Kyiv City Military Administration reported.
Mayor Vitalii Klychko also stated that emergency services rushed to three districts of Kyiv: Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi, and Dniprovskyi.
"Also, preliminary information indicates debris falling in the Solomianskyi and Dniprovskyi districts," the statement said.
A private house was damaged by debris in the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv
In the Darnytsky district, a private house was damaged by debris. A multi-story building was damaged in the Solomiansky district.
The Kyiv City Military Administration reported that debris from a missile was found in a forest line in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. Preliminary information regarding casualties and destruction has not been received.
Later, the Kyiv mayor reported casualties:
"There are currently four injured in the Pecherskyi district. Medical assistance was provided on the spot to two women. Two, including a 16-year-old girl, were hospitalized."
Commander of the Air Force Mykola Oleshchuk reported that two ballistic missiles were destroyed.
"Approximately at 10:30, the enemy struck Kyiv with two ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea. The targets were destroyed, and the type is being determined," he said.
The police also showed the first photos of the aftermath of the attack on Kyiv.
"There are already five injured in the Pecherskyi district. Medical assistance was provided on the spot to three. Two were hospitalized," said the mayor.
The Russian missile attack also damaged a three-story sports hall building in the Pecherskyi district.

In related news, on the night of March 25, explosions were heard in the southern city of Odesa. Residents of some districts were left without electricity and water. The operation of air defense forces was reported.
Later, it became known that during the drone attacks on Odesa and the region, the Russians damaged energy facilities. In particular, DTEK reported that the Russians damaged one of the high-voltage energy facilities.
Overall, the air defense system downed eight out of nine Russian drones that attacked south of Ukraine on the night of March 25.
The Russians also launched further drone attacks on the Mykolaiv region. They hit an energy facility and residential buildings, injuring 11 people.
President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that Russia used nearly 190 missiles, about 140 drones, and almost 700 guided air bombs against Ukraine this week.
