Russia prepares 100,000 troops for summer offensive – Land Forces commander

Russia is amassing a new group of more than 100,000 soldiers for summer offensives.

Enemy forces may try to launch a new offensive on one of the directions, Ukraine's Land Forces commander Oleksandr Pavliuk says.

"We don't know Russian plans to the end. We only know that they are creating a group of more than 100,000 people. It is not necessarily that it will be an offensive, perhaps they will replenish their units that are losing their combat capability."

By the beginning of summer, Russia may have certain forces to conduct appropriate offensive operations on one of the directions.

According to the Institute for the Study of War, the Russian military command is forming reserves capable of conducting large-scale mechanized assaults on Ukrainian defense lines and achieving operationally significant success if they are fully equipped and properly trained.

British intelligence believes that Chasiv Yar near Bakhmut is likely to be the next target in the Donetsk region, as it is currently located about 5 km from the front line.

ISW believes that further delays in providing Western security assistance are likely to delay Ukrainian efforts to regain initiative throughout the entire theater of operations.
