IMF approves $880 mln tranche for Ukraine

The IMF Board of Directors completed the third review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine and approved a tranche of about $880 million.

Ukraine has successfully fulfilled four key requirements for the third review, which includes the adoption of the National Revenue Strategy, the development of a roadmap for public investment management, the development of measures to mobilize revenues for the state budget in 2024, and the adoption of legislation to strengthen the institutional autonomy and effectiveness of the SAP.

The Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko said that cooperation with the IMF is a key element in ensuring financial stability and stimulating economic recovery.

Ukrainian authorities are focused on fulfilling all the conditions of the EFF program as much as possible, as this opens up the possibility of attracting additional financial support.

The successful completion of the review paves the way for Ukraine to receive the fourth tranche of funding under the EFF program.

Over the entire period, Ukraine has already received three tranches of funding totaling about $4.5 billion. In 2024, the program provides for $5.4 billion in budgetary assistance to Ukraine.

On March 31, 2023, the IMF Board of Executive Directors approved a four-year program under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) for Ukraine in the amount of $15.6 billion.
