Zelensky holds talks with chairman of NATO Military Committee

On March 21, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Admiral Robert Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

Zelensky informed the Chairman about Ukraine's priority defense needs.

He also emphasized the urgent need for additional air defense systems to reliably protect Ukrainians from constant missile and drone attacks.

The President thanked the admiral for his first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression.

"Thank you for your first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale war. This is a serious signal of support for our society. The support of NATO and its member states is primarily important for the morale of our soldiers and civilian Ukrainians. We appreciate that we can count on you."

Volodymyr Zelensky and Robert Bauer discussed opportunities for strengthening the Alliance's coordination role in supporting Ukraine, developing the future military potential of our country in accordance with NATO standards and interoperability requirements.

Zelensky also outlined the expectations of the Ukrainian side from this year's NATO Summit in Washington.

On March 21, a NATO delegation led by Admiral Rob Bauer arrived in Ukraine for an official visit.

This visit was the first for a NATO military delegation since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war.

Bauer said that his visit was evidence that "NATO and Ukraine are closer than ever."

A conference will take place in Luxembourg, where Ukraine and NATO will launch a new level of partnership to improve defense procurement procedures to make this important process faster, more transparent and stable.
