Ukraine's president and PM meet with US senator to discuss aid for the country
President Volodymyr Zelensky and Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held separate meetings with American Senator Lindsey Graham.

Meeting between Zelensky and Graham
As noted in the embassy, Senator Graham and US chargé d'affaires in Ukraine Robert Needham "held an important meeting" with President Zelensky, during which they discussed the situation on the battlefield and the role of American aid in Ukraine's struggle with Russia.
The diplomatic mission emphasized that time is of the essence in helping Ukraine.

Meeting of Shmyhal and Graham
In turn, Shmyhal said that he was convinced of the unwavering support of the United States during the meeting with Graham. The parties discussed the urgent needs of the economy and the front.
The Prime Minister noted that Ukraine's partners have a clear understanding that the country needs more support and weapons.
"The key issue remains the confiscation of frozen Russian assets. We must speed up the development of the necessary mechanism. Russian assets will become a valuable resource for strengthening our state," Shmyhal emphasized.
According to him, the meeting also discussed US assistance in implementing reforms. He invited American companies to invest in Ukraine and implement projects here.

As reported, on March 18, it became known that the Republican senator of the United States of America (USA) from South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, arrived in Kyiv for a visit.
It should be noted that Graham is known for his active support of Ukraine, who has also repeatedly called for Russia to be recognized as a sponsor of terrorism, or suggested that the Russian military eliminate dictator Vladimir Putin.
The USA has not been able to approve new funding for aid to Ukraine for several months. Because of this, the supply of weapons to our defenders from the Americans has been suspended.
However, on February 13, the US Senate approved a $95 billion aid bill for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. In particular, more than 60 billion dollars have been earmarked for Ukraine.
Part of the Republican Party of the USA and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, began to develop their own version of the aid package for Ukraine.
In the budget request of the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, for the 2025 fiscal year, 1.5 billion dollars were provided to counter the aggression of the Kremlin, of which 482 million dollars are for Ukraine.
