Ukraine increases pensions for veterans

Ukraine used to tie payments for veterans to the subsistence minimum.
The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to separate these two values, Rubryka reports.
From now on, pensions for veterans will no longer depend on the subsistence minimum for disabled persons. The new calculation mechanism includes the following coefficients:
- 650% for individuals with disability group I acquired through participation in military actions;
- 525% for individuals with disability group II;
- 360% for individuals with disability group III;
- 210% for combatants;
- 210% for victims of the Revolution of Dignity.
These changes are aimed at improving the pension payment system for veterans.
How will minimum pensions for veterans change
Increasing the subsistence minimum for persons with disabilities in Ukraine has significantly increased guaranteed pensions for veterans.
The new pension amounts are now:
- The minimum pension for individuals with disability group I is ₴15,347, an increase of ₴1,742.5.
- For individuals with disability group II, the pension is ₴12,396, which is ₴1,407.75 more.
- Individuals with disability group III are entitled to ₴8,500, an increase of ₴965.20.
- Combatants receive ₴4,958, an increase of ₴562.70.
- The Revolution of Dignity participants are assigned ₴4,958, also increasing by ₴562.70.
These changes indicate an improvement in the financial situation of veterans and victims of conflicts in Ukraine.
In related news, Ukrainian Administrative Service Centers intend to become a "single window" for providing services to veterans and their families.
Lviv also welcomed Ukraine's first "HAB | Lviv Habilitation Center." Here, veterans and civilians who have suffered as a result of war and have already undergone treatment and rehabilitation are adapting to new living conditions. About 300 individuals will be able to receive assistance here annually.
