“We cannot allow Russia to use delays in aid to advance, putting all of Europe and the democratic world at risk of an even larger war” – Kuleba

The Foreign Affairs Minister, Dmytro Kuleba, met with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, where he emphasized the importance of not allowing Russia to exploit delays in aid to Ukraine in its advancement on the front.

According to Kuleba, during the talks, he thanked Blinken for the recent military aid package that will help Ukraine resist Russian aggression.

In particular, the minister emphasized the importance of continuing American and international aid to Ukraine, including air defense equipment and artillery ammunition.

"We cannot allow Russia to use delays in aid to advance, putting all of Europe and the democratic world at risk of an even larger war," Kuleba said.

Also, during the negotiations, the parties:

• discussed ways of approving the critically needed support package for Ukraine from the US side;
• exchanged views on the expected results of the NATO Washington Summit, which will occur this year.

"Ukraine has demonstrated repeatedly in recent years that with sufficient support, we can defeat Russia on the battlefield. Failure to continue supporting Ukraine would severely undermine the U.S. leadership all across the world and jeopardize American national security," the minister added.

The United States has been unable to approve new funding for aid to Ukraine for several months. As a result, the supply of weapons to Ukrainian defenders from the US has been suspended.

However, on February 13, the US Senate approved a $95 billion aid bill for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan. In particular, more than 60 billion dollars have been earmarked for Ukraine.

It is worth adding that the speaker of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, Republican Mike Johnson, criticized the US Senate's bill on aid to Ukraine and Israel for the lack of measures that could stop the record flow of migrants across the US-Mexico border.

Later, Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick introduced another bipartisan document, which he called a compromise, including the border issue. The bill provides reduced funding compared to the Senate version. In particular, this document allocates $47 billion for Ukraine.

On February 27, US President Joe Biden met with the leaders of the US Congress on the issue of aid to Ukraine and emphasized that the Congress's inaction had dire consequences.

On March 7, the head of the White House addressed Congress, during which, in particular, he mentioned Russia's war against Ukraine and once again called for additional funding to Kyiv.
